Russia - a country with long history and rich culture. Some of the architectural, historical and cultural monuments on the territory of the Russian Federation made the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including: The Moscow Kremlin and Red Square, the historic center of St. Petersburg and the palace-park complex of its surroundings, Kizhi churchyard, historical monuments of Novgorod, historical and cultural complex of the Solovetsky Islands, white monuments of Vladimir-Suzdal Land and the Church of Boris and Gleb in Kidekshe, the Trinity-Sergius Lavra in Sergiev Posad, Ascension Church in Kolomenskoye. One of the major cultural centers in Russia is St. Petersburg, where there is St. Isaac's Cathedral, a monument to Peter I; Hermitage palace complex, where one of the richest museums in the world with collections of paintings, furniture, sculpture, numerous museums, the famous Summer Garden.
